We have been alerted to a scam that is being directed to Social Firms and Small Social Enterprises – John Charles of Catering2order was targeted this morning.
As ever, please be vigilant when receiving cold calls regarding sales and promotions opportunities.
The essence of this scam is as follows:
Finding a job at the moment is hard enough and if you’re disabled or have a mental health problem it’s even more difficult. Making the leap from relying on benefits to getting a full time job is often simply unrealistic. But part-time work can help to build up skills, confidence and a work record to show to future employers. It also raises the self esteem that comes with earning a wage.
CEO of Social Firms UK Sally Reynolds has been made a member of the Department for Work and Pensions social inclusion advisory group- the only representative of the social enterprise sector.
The launch of the ‘Just Buy’ campaign last month by Social Firms UK invited consumers to buy on a regular basis from their local Social Firms. The campaign so inspired social enterprise advisor Bob Northey, Director of Social Traders, that he offered his services in order to create a new Google map using the latest mapping tools provided by the popular internet search giant.
